Keith chairs the firm's Business, Estate and Tax practice group.  Admitted to the bars of Virginia and the District of Columbia, Keith practices in all areas of business planning, business succession planning, estate planning and tax planning.  Prior to entering into private practice, Keith was a trial attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service at the National Office in Washington D.C.  While at the IRS, Keith specialized in the income taxation of trusts, estates, partnerships, S corporations and limited liability companies, as well as estate and gift taxation.  After receiving his LL.M. (Masters in Tax Law) (graduating with distinction) from Georgetown University, Keith entered private practice forming the form Troxell & Kincaid, P.L.C., which merged with current firm to form Atwill, Troxell & Leigh, P.C.

Keith brings substantial tax, business and estate experience to his practice wherein he focuses on wealth preservation with an emphasis on business and land succession planning.  Keith works closely with clients to ascertain the client's objectives and then leads the client through the selection of sophisticated techniques to achieve those objectives.  Techniques for wealth preservation run a gamut of areas including estate and estate tax planning, business and land succession planning, transactional planning, and executive compensation.  Working closely with the realestate and litigation teams of the firm, Keith also considers strategies to enhance asset value and reduce litigation risk as part of the wealth preservation and succession plans.
